So. I’m on a committee. And we’re trying to run some interesting bookish events, in a beautiful place.
If that’s your bag too, consider following Mountain Writers Festival, which will be held in Macedon, Victoria – in the beautiful Macedon Ranges.
The Mountain Writers Festival will run on 5-6 November 2022. Friends of the festival just call it Mountain – you can too.
The festival’s focus on place, story and nature not just as a theme, but as the festival’s entire purpose now and into the future, is unique in Australia. It will include author panels and in-conversation events showcasing novels with regional settings, environmental science writing, Indigenous storytelling, nature writing, and cli-fi.
But, as a tasty entree, Mountain’s inaugural event will be a fabulous literary lunch in Macedon, at the Wine Collective. Esteemed writers Tony Birch, Evelyn Araluen, and Tom Griffiths will be in conversation with Sophie Cunningham.
Save the date: 26 March 2022. Tickets for this unmissable event go on sale 14 February 2022.
This sounds wonderful Michelle. I can’t even begin to think about next November but I will put it in my calendar because you never know, and I do want to visit our Victorian family more frequently this year.
Totally understand – forward planning is pretty tricky right now! But it would be SO wonderful if you could make it. Already the line-up is looking pretty special…
Great content! Keep up the good work!
