Spirit of the Crocodile – kicking goals!

Our little croc book has been on a winning streak lately and, like a proud mama, I can’t help but share my pride and delight.

Spirit of the Crocodile was a finalist in the Queensland Literary Awards.

Highly commended in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards.

And was recently proclaimed as a 2026 Notable Book by the Children’s Book Council of Australia.

Just as exciting, Spirit of the Crocodile has been acquired by leading US publisher Lerner, and will be published in the USA next year. 

It’s been nearly a year since Spirit of the Crocodile was released and I can’t begin to tell you how well it’s been received in the world. We’ve had SO much positive feedback from readers (of all ages), reviewers, teachers and schools. The most precious feedback for me, though, has been from our First Nations readers, who have been unanimous in their support and praise.
