Next weekend you’ll find me in Port Fairy, enjoying and talking about all things bookish. Even The Husband will be there (although it’s possible he’ll spend most of his time fishing…)
Why don’t you join us, at the Port Fairy Literary Weekend?
I’m on a panel with debut novelist Nicole Kelly (her book Lament is a re-imagining of the Ned Kelly story) and we’ll be talking about history and its gendered gaze.
But there are so many other excellent writers and speakers on the program that you’ll be spoilt for choice. Don Watson, Jock Serong, Danielle Binks, Lyn Yeowart, RWR McDonald – how can you resist?
Well, I would have, but one week’s notice makes getting accommodation and a dog-sitter a bit tricky…
The COVID-19 lockdown meant it was all a bit precarious for a while…however I’m also a member of the keynote panel for Wordfest 2021 (thanks Monash Libraries) which is a free, Zoom event.
We’ll be talking about the hidden history of women.

That’s wonderful – see you there!!
We’re trying to get a booking at Blake’s for dinner, but haven’t heard back from them yet. Maybe we could meet up there?
I think the organisers are organising a dinner for the writers. But we’ll definitely catch up. I’ll email you my phone number. Mxx

Do you know of any good restaurants open? We’ve had no luck so far in making a booking.
Sorry – I’m not a Port Fairy local either (I’m travelling down for the festival). I’m sure there’ll be somewhere lovely?
